To develop a compelling artistic concept, tools and structures for refining ideas and ambitions are essential for securing funding from grants and building partnerships with businesses and theater stages. Yet, while many performing artists are on unemployment benefits, with their careers as performers on hold, it puzzles us that more focus isn't placed on equipping them with the tools to motivate and inspire them to create their own productions. We want to change that!

Kaosteater dreams of transforming the performing arts landscape by bringing more independent creators to the forefront, thereby generating more jobs and fostering greater diversity among the nation’s theatrical productions. We pursue this dream with a series of handbooks designed to cover the entire creative process – from ideation and logistics to strategy, branding, fundraising, and leadership.

Our handbooks, Idea Development and Realization & Fundraising, are already available and provide actors, theater students, and other performing artists with the tools to take the first steps in cultivating their artistic visions.
